Abstract

Violence against doctors in the workplace is a common issue globally, particularly in developing countries like India. The recent incident of a doctor on duty rape in Kolkata has led to widespread protests and demand for workplace safety. The violation of safety can result in a loss of trust, anxiety, and a loss of confidence in the medical profession. It can also damage public trust in healthcare institutions, as patients and the public may feel that if healthcare professionals are not safe, the overall security of healthcare environments is compromised. The psychological consequences of these actions include instilling fear and anxiety among healthcare professionals, most of whom are women.
